About IPR Cell
Our ChettinadTech always encourages creativity, research and provide conducive environment along with teaching and extension activities. A flourishing research and innovative teaching approach demands Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). IPR plays a vital role in providing a competitive edge for an institution.
Academic and Research Institutions are mainly concerned with managing projects and research initiatives successfully. The protection of their IP Rights will benefit all stake holders. Intellectual property refers to the property created and owned by a person through the virtue of human intellect.
Intellectual property rights shall include patents, trademarks, copy rights, trade secrets and other species such as computer software or printed material, any new and useful process, machine, composition of matter, life form, article of manufacture, software, copyrighted work, such things as new or improved devices, circuits, chemical compounds, drugs, genetically engineered biological organisms, data sets, software musical processes, or unique and innovative uses of existing inventions.

Mission
To create awareness and offer guidance to faculty members, non-academic staffs, students on the practices and the guidelines to encourage the creation of a wide variety of intellectual products.
Objectives
To create awareness about IPR for faculty member and students of the college.
To encourage faculty members and scholars to go for patentable works.
To disseminate knowledge on patents, patent regime in India and abroad and registration aspects.
To impart training on future endeavors regarding patent filing processes.
To advise and guide the students and faculty about the importance of patents and copyrights.
To arrange periodic meetings of faculty members along with experts for identifying patentable contributions.
To encourage faculty members to carryout patent research and fine-tune their research to make it patentable.
To forward eligible cases for IP protection to Patent office.
To work as a bridge between Patent office and ChettinadTech.
