The Learning Centre of our department stands as an epitome of intellectual elegance and a repository of technical education, in particular, engineering and technology. It plays a pivotal role in the process of promoting and demonstrating a desire for information, knowledge, and understanding among the students, and aides them in the development of their professional and personal lives. The Learning Centre inspires and supports students, faculty, researchers, and staff in all facets of their pursuits to dream, learn, create and share knowledge. It provides access to a wide array of technical ideas and information. Relying on its highly skilled staff, the Learning Centre encourages innovation, capitalises on appropriate technologies, forges effective partnerships, and unequivocally promotes excellence among the students. The Learning Centre provides an ambience conducive for the teaching and learning process with the support of 700 volumes of text and reference books with RFID based Library Management System.

Laboratories

The department possesses the most advanced equipment in its laboratories. It also provides opportunities to grow and excel in the technical world by conducting regular workshops and programs in various fields. The department is highly active in research work in the fields of broadband communications, VLSI Design, image processing etc.

Our vision is to prepare the students to adapt to the fast changing global advancements made in the field of communication by educating them to become exemplary professionals with high ethics and a sense of research orientation. The students are provided adequate training in the field of signal processing, image processing and digital communication. Students are highly motivated to attend in-plant training in some of the most prestigious organizations during their time with the institution.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

• To provide the students with a strong foundation in the required sciences in order to pursue studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering
• To gain adequate knowledge to become good professional in electronics and communication engineering associated industries, higher education and research
• To develop attitude in lifelong learning, applying and adapting new ideas and technologies as their field evolves
• To prepare students to critically analyze existing literature in an area of specialization and ethically develop innovative and research oriented methodologies to solve the problems identified
• To inculcate in the students a professional and ethical attitude and an ability to visualize the engineering issues in a broader social context

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

• Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
• Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
• Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
• Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
• Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
• The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

• PSO1: Design, develop and analyze electronic systems through application of relevant electronics, mathematics and engineering principles
• PSO2: Design, develop and analyze communication systems through application of fundamentals from communication principles, signal processing, and RF System Design & Electromagnetics.
• PSO3: Adapt to emerging electronics and communication technologies and develop innovative solutions for existing and newer problems

PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE

We are excited to announce the formation of a Program Advisory Committee for Electronics and Communication Engineering at Chettinad college of Engineering & Technology. The committee will play a crucial role in providing valuable advice and guidance to enhance the quality and relevance of our program.

The Program Advisory Committee aims to bring together key stakeholders, including representatives from industry, academia, professional bodies, students, and alumni. The committee will serve as a valuable resource in shaping the strategic direction of the program, ensuring its alignment with industry trends, and promoting excellence in education.

Responsibilities:

• Attending periodic committee meetings to discuss program-related matters, provide input, and share your expertise.
• Reviewing the curriculum, course offerings, and program outcomes to ensure their relevance and effectiveness.
• Providing advice and recommendations on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance the program's quality and prepare students for successful careers.
• Assisting in fostering collaboration and partnership opportunities between the program and relevant industry stakeholders.
